Project: Do a wood carving that follows the prompt: "It's About Time."

Goals:

  • Adding detail to the face

  • Testing fish scale texture

The fish scale texture was a success, in my opinion. It looks exactly how I pictured it.

I managed to get the horns in and they look fine. However, there were some problems with getting the head to be the right shape again. I kept splitting the wood and taking out sections I didn't intend to. I eventually fixed this by changing the angle of my carving so it wouldn't split in that direction. However, I had to dig even deeper into the wood to make it even. If I work fast, I might be able to lower the entire carving, or at least the background, to compensate.
