Project: Do a wood carving that follows the prompt: "It's About Time."

Goals:

  • Finish face

  • Add details

  • Lower a lot of stuff

  • Add background

I'm so close to being done!!! The horns and both eyes are there. I could keep lowering and adding more depth, but I think it's fine as it is. Now my priority is to add background details. I ditched the mallet and carved at the wood with just the tool. I have added a couple fish, but it's really time-consuming. I'm really worried that the smaller, thinner parts of the wood will snap off at some point. However, if these do snap off, I can just remove them and pretend they were never there. At this stage, I think being careful and having sharp tools to very important. Both of these prevent accidentally tearing the wood. Unfortunately, being careful isn't my favorite pastime, but I'll try and do it for this project.
