Still Life Oil Painting Progress: Weeks 1-4

Project: A still life oil painting, no prompt.

Goals:

• Stretch and prime canvas

• Pick items and composition

• Start underpainting

This will be the first time I oil paint :O And the first time I stretch and prime a canvas. The final result was fine, but it was a painful process.

The underpainting is going well, but I'm still having trouble with getting the detail I want for the cat head. I'm a little worried I won't ever be able to get it because the word "love" and the flowers are so small. Worst case scenario, I might just turn the two smaller flowers into one larger one or something to simplify it. I messed up with the dark paint in some areas, but I'm hoping I can fix it with with the white later.
